Executive Summary: A Managed Intelligence Provider (MIP) is the next step beyond a managed service provider (MSP) and a managed security service provider (MSSP). An MSP keeps systems running and secure. An MSSP adds advanced security and industry compliance. An MIP does both and also applies AI and automation to how the business operates, so the technology reduces labor instead of just supporting it.
Executive Summary: Managed intelligence is the practice of embedding AI monitoring, automation, and predictive analytics into IT and security operations so that incidents are resolved faster, compliance evidence is collected continuously, and routine workflows are automated. A Managed Intelligence Provider (MIP) delivers managed intelligence as a service, replacing the traditional MSP and MSSP models for mid-market firms that want measurable AI-driven efficiency, not just uptime.
Executive Summary: The difference between an MSP and an MSSP: a Managed Service Provider (MSP) handles core IT operations — help desk, endpoint management, network and server administration, backup, and Microsoft 365 — under a fixed monthly fee. A Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP) is security-only — 24/7 SOC monitoring, SIEM, threat detection, incident response, and vulnerability management — and assumes another team owns IT. Most mid-market firms need both, which is why they end up paying two vendors with overlapping tools and finger-pointing during incidents. A Managed Intelligence Provider (MIP) like Core12 Tech consolidates MSP plus MSSP plus AI-driven automation into one delivery model, one contract, and one accountable team, with the AIQ Score assessment quantifying AI maturity across both layers.
A Managed Intelligence Provider (MIP) embeds intelligence into your technology stack and workflows to reduce labor, eliminate errors, and remove friction. Core12 has been guiding clients toward this model since our founding—before "AI" became a buzzword.

Core12 Tech is an Atlanta-based Managed Intelligence Provider (MIP), founded in 2008, serving organizations with 10 to 50 employees across the Southeast United States. Core12 pairs a hardened managed IT and cybersecurity foundation, including MDR, SIEM, Zero Trust and CMMC compliance, with AI and automation that reduce manual work and remove process friction. Core12 offers fully managed and co-managed plans, private cloud hosting and vCIO advisory, and serves manufacturing, architecture and engineering, law, financial services, defense contractors and life sciences.
Core12 was founded with a forward-looking belief: IT should drive operational efficiency, not just uptime.
From day one, our mission has been to move clients toward a future-state technology stack that reduces manual work, eliminates process friction, and uses automation to improve how the business actually runs. Managed IT and managed security were always foundational layers—not the end goal.
AI automation, workflow optimization, and intelligent systems were always the destination. The market is now catching up to what we've been building for over a decade. The term "Managed Intelligence Provider" simply gives the right name to how Core12 has always operated.

AI & Automation
This is what makes Core12 a Managed Intelligence Provider. We deploy AI automation, redesign workflows, implement agent/copilot systems, and streamline business processes—with measurable efficiency gains. Core12's Managed Intelligence Provider model is built for growing firms (10 to 50 employees) that want:
The AIQ Score benchmarks your AI maturity against firms your size — free, 60 seconds, no sales pitch.
A 12-point diagnostic of your IT spend, security posture, and compliance gaps — the IT counterpart to the AIQ Score, delivered in 24 hours.
The MIP model replaces the standalone MSP and MSSP relationship. See how Core12 Tech stacks up against the Atlanta and Southeast MSPs mid-market firms most often evaluate:

No. Core12's co-managed model augments internal IT — your team keeps strategy and vendor relationships, the MIP handles 24/7 monitoring, CMMC and SOC 2 evidence collection, and tier-1 and tier-2 response under 10 minutes.
MIP pricing typically runs 10 to 20 percent above a flat-rate MSP, but Forrester measured a 105% three-year ROI for mid-market firms on the Core12 model, driven by avoided breach costs (averaging $4.45M per incident in 2025) and 11 fewer minutes of downtime per user per month.
Core12 Tech is CMMC Level 2 and SOC 2 Type II ready. We support defense contractors across Georgia and Florida hitting the December 2026 DFARS 7012 CMMC deadline, with NIST 800-171 evidence collection built into the CoPilot dashboard.
Yes. Core12 serves the Southeast — Atlanta, Charlotte, Nashville, Birmingham, Jacksonville, and West Florida — with onsite dispatch within 4 hours across the primary service area and same-day remote response everywhere else.
